heated from behind as we head for distraction
A collection of poems written between 2017-20 that explore a wide range of scenarios, distractions, and responses to them - dissociating, surrendering, resisting, or wilfully embracing - to think about how, as Sara Ahmed has put it, “to live out a politics of disorientation might be to sustain wonder about the very forms of social gathering.” Varied and promiscuous in form, these poems are as much about the ongoing crisis of living under capitalism as they are about navigating love and desire, kinship and care.
