The Movement is a large-scale sculptural installation made in response to the polarised conditions that transformed public spaces between 2020-22: the wide berths and rising suspicion normalised at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and at the same time, bodies filling streets in the name of Black life, trans rights, a free Palestine and climate justice, as the UK government introduced their ‘anti-protest’ Police, Crime, Sentencing & Courts Bill.

Discussing the work in M-A (A Space Between), Flo Ray and Joe Richards speak about conceptions of selfhood and the collective body, configurations of space, parataxis, and envisaging new ways of relating. The full interview can be read here.
